CH GRHBCH OLINGER'S POLLY WANNA WABBIT
Polly after her fifth Champion win at St. Louisville Beagle Club
Where do I begin with this female. Polly started the success that I currently have been having in my kennel and has showed me what I want in a rabbit dog. Polly started very easily at three months of age. Her and her littermate sister, Sadie, were my first two rabbit hounds. Both were purchased from Michael Gorman, of Gorman Creek Kennels, in Kimbolten (Birds Run), Ohio. Polly and Sadie are both grand-sired by GRCH GRHBCH Cherry Hill Red Chief and GRHBCH Arnold's Little Chip. Chief is owned by Michael Gorman's son, Jamey, who currently still owns Chief and several of his offspring. I would personally like to thank Michael and Jamey for selling me two fine pups. I started both by simply taking them out and jumping rabbits ahead of them. It was not long until they were circling rabbits, and I was dreaming of attending the trials and hunting rabbits over these females. Polly's success began in her first hunt which was the 2008 Don McVay Sr. Memorial Hunt. She finished fourth. Polly quickly went on to finish to a Hunting Beagle Champion about four or five trials later. She was qualified for the 2009 Hunting Beagle Championsips that were held in LaGrange, Indiana. Polly went on to win the Ohio Junior State Race in 2008. Polly racked up four of her five Champion wins very quickly. In the Spring of 2009, she won 11 straight casts, and then went on to win 13 of 15 casts. As any UKC field trialer would know, you must have the highest score in the Champions or Grands in order to win the Overall Category. However, each time she would come back and finish either second or third, even though she had won her cast. Polly went on to finish to a Grand Hunting Beagle Champion and, attaining her fifth Champion Hunt Win at St. Louisville, Ohio in the Fall of 2009. Polly went on to win several Grand Hunting Beagle Casts, and won the 2009 All-Age State Race, finishing with 140 points. It was a very nice accomplishment for Polly and my kennel to win the Ohio State Junior Race in 2008 and the Ohio All Age State Race in 2009. Polly is still a very young hound, not even three years of age yet. I still have big plans for her, and hope to have some luck at some of the big hunts in the future with her. Polly goes hunting and is usually a first strike dog. Polly is tight mouthed and uses her mouth ONLY when the rabbit has been jumped. Polly is almost always a first line dog and is VERY fast on the track.

HBCH CH OLINGER'S SINGING SADIE
Sadie after finishing ninth at the 2009 Ohio State Hunt
HBCH CH Olinger's Singing Sadie was my Grandpa Jack's pick out of the litter. The litter was whelped at the home of Michael Gorman, of Gorman Creek Kennels. Sadie is grand-sired by GRCH GRHBCH Cherry Hill Red Chief and GRHBCH Arnold's Little Chip. I can remember the ride home with Grandpa like it was just yesterday. Grandpa rode in the passenger's seat with the pups on the floor between his legs. I told him that since he came along with me to help me pick out the pups that I wanted him to name one. He said that he wanted to name this pup Sadie. Throughout the training process I always thought that Polly was going to be the better dog, maybe because she started a day or two ahead of Sadie (which was just lack of knowledge on my part at the time :-) However, Grandpa Jack always told me that Sadie was going to come on strong and that he really thought that she would turn out to be the better dog. Until the last time I spoke with Grandpa before he lost his battle with lung cancer two days prior to Christmas of 2008, Grandpa always wanted to know when I was going to start taking Sadie to the hunts. Grandpa did not make it to to hear the results of Sadie's first hunt, however I knew he was looking down with a BIG smile on his face and saying "I told you so!" Sadie went on to become a Hunting Beagle Champion rather fast. She has only been entered in six or seven hunts and has two first place finishes, a fourth, and a ninth place finish at the 2009 Ohio State Hunting Beagle Hunt. Sadie finished to a Hunting Beagle Champion in late December of 2009 in Brazil, Indiana. She also finished to Champion on the bench in only a handful of shows. I plan on trying to finish Sadie to a Dual Grand in 2010. Sadie is a very nice hound that is also tight mouthed and will NOT open until the rabbit is jumped and running. I have never taken a minus with this dog in any hunts. She is a littermate sister to my Polly dog which was mentioned above. Sadie is fast on track and is almost always a first or second line dog. Sadie has whelped one litter to date. The litter is sired by GRCH GRHBCH White River Rambling Striker. Striker is in the NHBA (National Hunting Beagle Association) Hall of Fame. The litter (as of November 2010) is 5 months old. The litter was whelped on July 9, 2010. All three pups are currently kenneled here at Olinger Beagle Kennels, and I will be starting all three of these pups and working with them in the months ahead.
