Just a little information about me: Jason Olinger
Me and my 2009 Spring Turkey
A lot of you have probably met me through trialing, but I figured that I would just share some information about myself. As a child, I always had an excitement for seeing wild game around our house. Whether it was the deer licking the salk lick near the edge of our property or the squirrels climbing and searching for nuts at the Hickory Nut trees alongside our house, I always had an intersest in watching them. It was not until my freshman or sophomore year of high school that I actually took up hunting. I can recall my first deer hunt as if it were yesterday. My grandfather and I went to my great-grandmothers farm and sat on five gallon buckets just inside the woodline overlooking a seven or eight acre field in the middle of a large woods. That hunt with my grandfather was my first real hunt for wild game. However, my father had always taken me and my two other brothers fishing and mushroom hunting, probably before we could walk. I guess you could say that "hunting" has always been a passion of mine, whether it was searching and scanning the woods for mushrooms, or just simply watching the deer and squirrels on our property. Since then, I have shot a few deer here and there and some wild turkey's, but my true passion is one that I have only been apart of since the spring of 2007. Since then, I have graduated from The Ohio State University with bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education with areas of concentration in Science and Social Studies. Since graduating from Ohio State, my girlfriend and I have furthered our education by pursuing our Master's Degrees in Education. We both only have until May of 2010, and then we will have our Master's Degrees in Education from Mount Vernon Nazerene University.
